Do you want to explore Venice and you have only one day? Our Venice in One Day Tour is what you’re looking for.

Duration: about 6 hours (including a lunch break)

Our Venice in One Day Tour will allow you to see both the highlights of this magical city and some of the most precious hidden gems.

We will start from the Rialto area, famous worldwide for its beautiful bridge and the traditional market (open in the morning from Tuesday to Saturday).

Your private guide will show you these popular attractions and then take you off the beaten path. You will explore the lesser-known parts of Rialto and San Marco area, and have a taste of the locals’ life. Don’t worry about finding your way around the enchanted maze of the canals: your guide will lead you to through this beautiful district, making sure you enjoy every square, every church, every corner of it.

After spending a couple of hours exploring Venice, it will be lunchtime: your guide will happily recommend a restaurant or a traditional Bistrot to have a lovely break.

You will taste some of the most delicious Venetian dishes (lunch not included in the price), and then you will be ready to start the second part of the tour, and see the most famous sights in the city: St. Mark’s Square, S. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace.

You will learn about the wonderful St. Mark’s Square, surrounded by masterpieces of architecture; then, you will enter the marvelous Basilica of St. Mark (we'll have skip-the-line tickets) which is one of the most impressive churches in the world.

St. Mark’s Basilica is where East and West meet, and where the Byzantine and the Roman Catholic tradition merge to create something completely original. Your guide will teach you about the history and the architecture of this astonishing building, and you’ll be overwhelmed by its golden mosaics, decorations, and proportions.

Is the body of St. Mark the Evangelist kept in the Basilica? And how did it get there? Take advantage of your private guide and ask as many questions as you want!

Your Venice in One Day tour will continue with a visit to the Doge’s Palace, the residence of Venice Rulers. This magnificent building is one of the masterpieces of gothic architecture. Your guide will lead you through its marvelous rooms, where you can admire famous paintings by Tintoretto, Veronese, Tiziano, and other masters of the Venetian Renaissance.

The Doge’s Palace was not only the heart of the Venetian power, where the Great Council gathered, but it was also a courthouse and a jail.

On your way out, you will cross the famous Bridge of Sighs and you’ll reach the Prigioni Nuove (New Prisons). Your guide will tell you the story of the most famous prisoner in the Doge's Palace: Giacomo Casanova. He was hosted in the nearby “Piombi” prison for more than a year before he eventually managed to escape through the roof and leave the city on a Gondola.

Forget about big groups, book our Venice in One Day Tour and see as much as possible of Venice in the most comfortable, informative, and entertaining way!

If you want to, you can go on a gondola ride after the tour! Just ask your guide for information.
